Fabulous day! Only 24 miles but full of fun. Ian joined me on his folding Dahon and we rode to Wendy's in Carnforth for tea & flapjack. Wendy is the Mum of Nick, a CycleChat friend, and a delightful lady who sent me off armed with flapjack. Further along the road we met Tommy Page on his Thorn Raven Tour, on his stage by stage journey following the UK mainland coastline. Good luck Tommy. Now I'm with Ria and Bob in Kendal enjoying their fine hospitality. Life is good!
Glad all is going well for you. Sounds like you are meeting some great people along the way, that's what makes the trip I think. No doubt the hills are really starting to kick in and Scotland not too far away now - best riding of the journey for me. I am still envious. Good luck for the rest of the trip. Jackie
ReplyDeleteThanks Jackie. Meeting people is proving to be real benefit of this trip.
ReplyDeleteI'm halfway now and looking at rain out of the window but realised I've had some pleasant weather for a good few days now. Aiming to wild camp from here on, including a spot I have earmarked in N Lakes. Really looking forward to Scotland :)
Ah Good travels and Tommy, a man that has a tool kit bigger than my van an a heart bigger than a elephant>
ReplyDeleteYou obviously know Tommy. He did look well organised; a man with a mission. Thanks for visiting.
